** SLAY YOUR OWN DRAGONS **

How women can avoid self-sabotage in love and work

(This is the foreword of my book, SLAY YOUR OWN DRAGONS)

A woman who came to see me a few years ago told me about her "dragons." No, they weren't some exotic new pets; this was the name she gave the thoughts she had about herself that made her miserable. Her dragons werre negative tapes that played in her head, preventing her from being everything she wanted to be and having everything she wanted to have. I thought "dragons" was the perfect name to give these self-sabotaging thoughts we all carry around with us.

Dragons traditionally destroyed beauty. They demanded and devoured virgins, burned the countryside with their fiery breath, killed handsome young men, and were repulsively ugly. Similarly, women destroy their tremendous potential and inner beauty because their dragons - their destructive emotional voices - get loose in their heads.

I realized quite some time ago that no knight in shining armor can slay these dragons for you. But you can learn to slay your own dragons. This book will give you the skills you'll need to end self-sabotage forever.
